Privacy policy
This policy describes what the Zéro Corvée website stores in the browser, what it loads from third-party services and when, and how to exercise your rights. It describes the site as it works on 24 October 2026.
Data controller
The data controller is the site’s publisher: Jérémy Santos, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel) trading as OcciRank, 22 rue Mérigonde, 81100 Castres, France. His other details are in the legal notice.
- Contact for personal data requests: [email protected]
What the site stores in the browser
zc-lang(site cookie): remembers the chosen language, only after a click on a language (language switcher or the box that offers a translation). It brings that language back on the next visit: the root address leads to its folder, and the translation box offers it on the other pages. Duration: 1 year.zc-lang-suggest(sessionStorage): remembers that the box offering a translation was closed with “Not now”. Duration: the visit; it is cleared when the tab is closed.
zc-consent(site cookie): remembers the answer given in the audience measurement banner (accept or decline). Duration: 6 months, after which the banner is shown again.- Only with the visitor’s consent: the audience measurement cookies described below (
_ga,_ga_<ID>,_clck,_clsk).
What the site itself stores only serves to remember a choice made by the visitor; it cannot be used to follow them on other websites. The site offers no form and asks for no data (name, email address or anything else). It serves its fonts itself, with no call to an external font service.
Audience measurement
The site measures its audience with two tools, loaded only after a click on “Accept” in the banner shown on the first visit. “Decline” has the same position and the same weight. Until an answer is given, neither tool is loaded.
- Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager: pages viewed, the page the visit came from, device and browser type, approximate location, and clicks on the site’s buttons. A click on an affiliate link to PlugKit sends the
affiliate_clickevent; a click on any other button (course, YouTube channel, video) sends thecta_clickevent, with the button’s identifier, its position, the page type and the language. Cookies:_gaand_ga_<ID>, which hold a random identifier for the browser. Duration: 390 days (under 13 months), counted from the first visit and not extended on later visits; set in Google Tag Manager (Google’s default is 2 years, renewed on each visit). Data retention in Google Analytics: 14 months, not extended by new visits. - Microsoft Clarity: clicks, scrolling and movements on the page, to find the passages where reading gets stuck. The content of input fields is masked. Session recordings are kept for 30 days; recordings marked as favourites and a random sample are kept for up to 9 months. Cookies:
_clckand_clskon the site’s domain; Microsoft also lists cookies on its own domains (CLID,ANONCHK,MR,MUID,SM). Duration: missing data: lifetime of the Clarity cookies (planned source: Microsoft Clarity documentation, which does not give it as of 24 October 2026).
None of this measurement is used for advertising: for both Google and Microsoft, the site declares advertising storage as denied, even after “Accept”.
Withdrawing consent: the “Manage cookies” button, at the bottom of every page, reopens the banner. A click on “Decline” deletes the measurement cookies set on the site’s domain (_ga, _ga_<ID>, _clck, _clsk), tells Clarity that consent has been withdrawn and reloads the page without the two tools. Cookies that Microsoft sets on its own domains cannot be deleted by the site: they have to be removed in the browser settings.
YouTube videos behind a facade
Zéro Corvée videos are shown “behind a facade”: until the visitor clicks, the page only shows an image (the video thumbnail) and a link.
- The thumbnail is a copy of the video image, stored and served by the Zéro Corvée website. Displaying it sends no request to Google.
- The video player, served from
www.youtube-nocookie.com(YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode), only loads when the thumbnail is clicked. From that click on, playback falls under Google’s rules, and the player may use cookies or the browser’s local storage: see Google’s privacy policy. - Videos not yet released only show a text box, with no image loaded from Google.
Links to the YouTube channel or to a video lead to youtube.com: nothing is loaded until the link is followed.
Links to PlugKit
Buttons to PlugKit go through an address on this site (for example /go/plugkit/en/), which redirects to www.plugkit.co with the referral code occirank. The Zéro Corvée site stores nothing in the browser during this redirect. As with any link that is followed, the browser may tell PlugKit which site the visitor came from (Referer header, depending on its settings).
Once on the PlugKit website, a PlugKit script (pk-ref.js, read on 24 October 2026) saves that code in the browser’s local storage (localStorage) for 90 days. The first code received is kept and is not replaced by another one. The same script reports the visit to PlugKit’s servers to count the click, at most once a day. In private browsing, this storage is cleared when the window is closed.
These operations take place on the PlugKit website. Where applicable, they are described in the PlugKit privacy policy.
Choosing the language on arrival
The root address serves the English version, and every other language has its own folder (/fr/, /es/, /pt-br/). A visitor who lands on the root address from another site is redirected to the folder of their language: the one they chose (zc-lang cookie), otherwise the one announced by their browser, otherwise the one of their country, which Cloudflare, our host, infers from their IP address. The other pages never redirect: when the page exists in the language announced by the browser, or in the one the visitor chose, a box offers that translation. This is worked out during the visit; the site records none of this information.
Hosting and server logs
- Host: Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages), 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States
To serve the pages, Cloudflare’s network processes technical connection data: IP address, page requested, date and time, browser type. For this data, Cloudflare acts on behalf of the publisher (as a processor). Log retention period: missing data: retention period of Cloudflare Pages logs (planned source: the publisher’s Cloudflare account settings; Cloudflare’s policy does not state it).
Transfers outside the European Union
Google (audience measurement and YouTube player), Microsoft (Clarity) and Cloudflare (hosting) are companies based in the United States: data may be processed there.
Each of them declares that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognised in its adequacy decision of 10 July 2023.
Legal bases
- Audience measurement: the visitor’s consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
- Language cookie (
zc-lang) and session flag (zc-lang-suggest): they only remember a choice requested by the visitor and are strictly necessary for that service; they do not require consent (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act). - Host’s server logs: the publisher’s legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working properly (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Banner answer cookie (
zc-consent): strictly necessary to respect the answer given in the banner; it does not require consent (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
Your rights
Anyone whose data is processed has the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and, where it applies, data portability. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
These rights are exercised with the publisher, at [email protected]. For data processed by Google (YouTube) or by PlugKit on their own services, they are exercised with those companies.
A complaint can be lodged with the French data protection authority (CNIL) or with the data protection authority of your country.
