How we test, step by step
How we test fits in three rules. We test PlugKit on a real Instagram account and film the demos. Other tools are compared using their official pages, read and dated, and their prices are rechecked every 3 months. No vendor pays for its place.
1. A real account, not a demo
PlugKit is tested on the @occirank Instagram account of Jérémy Santos, connected since 30 September 2026 on the Creator plan. Every feature shown on this site was used on that account, and the screenshots come from it: no fake screens are made.
A few results we recorded:
- A comment saying “AUTO” under a post triggered the public reply and the DM within seconds, during the real test filmed for the channel’s first video.
- The welcome message went out 8 seconds after a new contact’s first DM. The follow-up is scheduled at 23 hours rather than 24, to stay inside Meta’s window.
- Out of 160 conversations in Occirank’s Instagram inbox, only 3 were still inside the 24-hour window (checked on 24 October 2026).
We also note what gets in the way. As of 24 October 2026, Google Ads could not be connected in PlugKit (access under review at Google), and the PlugKit dashboard editor had a single caption field shared by every network.
2. Filmed demos
Key tasks are filmed and published on the Zéro Corvée YouTube channel: you see the screen, the request made to the AI and the result. The first demo has been live since 22 October 2026; five more are scheduled through 5 November 2026.
The videos are recorded in French. On pages in other languages, each video comes with a translated summary.
3. Competitor fact sheets read at the source
Every tool we compare has a fact sheet: plans and prices, trial, supported networks, and ten features (post scheduling, comment to DM, unified inbox, DM sequences, broadcasts, analytics, public API, MCP server, built-in AI assistant, video editing).
The facts come from the vendor’s official pages: pricing, documentation, and the llms.txt file when there is one. Each source is logged with the date we read it. As of 24 October 2026, we hold 30 fact sheets (PlugKit and 29 other tools), all read that day. A third-party source is flagged as such and is never used to set a price.
4. “Not mentioned” does not mean “missing”
If a vendor says nothing about a feature on its official pages, we don’t conclude the feature doesn’t exist. In our tables the cell reads “Not verified”; in the text we write “not mentioned on its official page”, with the date. “No” only appears when the vendor says so itself.
When two official pages from the same vendor contradict each other, we don’t decide for them: the point stays out of the text until the vendor clarifies it. As of 24 October 2026, that applies to six points at PlugKit.
5. Objective, verifiable comparisons
In France, comparative advertising is governed by Article L122-1 of the French Consumer Code, and the same principles apply across the European Union (Directive 2006/114/EC). A comparison must not mislead, must cover products that meet the same need, and must objectively compare essential, relevant, verifiable and representative features, which may include price. We apply that rule to every comparison, whatever the language of the page.
In practice:
- we compare tools that serve the same need (scheduling posts, automating DMs, running your accounts from an AI);
- every price carries the date it was read, and every fact points to its source;
- every comparison lists the cases where the other tool is the right choice, next to the ones where PlugKit is;
- we present a competitor’s real strengths before the differences, without running it down.
6. Prices rechecked every 3 months
Prices change fast. On pricing pages and comparisons, we reread the official prices every 3 months, and as soon as a vendor announces a plan change. Each update changes the date shown at the top of the page and adds the source we reread.
Before you subscribe, always check the price on the vendor’s site: that is the one that counts.
7. What can’t be bought
- No paid placements. No vendor, PlugKit competitor or not, pays to appear on this site or to move up a list.
- One commission only. It comes from PlugKit, through the referral code explained on our PlugKit affiliate links page.
- No made-up ratings. No star rating or customer review is shown; a rating will only appear after a documented test signed by Jérémy Santos.
8. How we pick topics
Topics come from questions people actually ask: Google searches measured with Haloscan and DataForSEO (data pulled on 24 October 2026), and questions Google shows in its “People also ask” box. Those volumes help us decide which pages to write, not to pad the text with numbers.
Spotted a mistake?
An outdated price, a wrong fact, a feature that has changed: report it using the contact details in our legal notice. The page then gets corrected, and its update date changes.
